Invisalign – Grand Prairie, TX

Straight Teeth and an Attractive New Smile

If your idea of correcting bite issues is wearing a set of metal braces, then you’ll be happy to know that you now have a more convenient and aesthetically pleasing option: Invisalign. Unlike traditional braces, the clear aligners, which are developed using the latest dental technology, are able to create your dream smile without having to draw unwanted attention to your mouth. Even better, you won’t have to change your diet or the way you perform oral hygiene. And, as an added bonus, the treatment process is typically shorter than traditional braces. How Invisalign Works

Like traditional braces, Invisalign in Grand Prairie uses tension to guide your teeth to their correct position. The approach is different, though. Instead of cumbersome brackets, wires and bands toiling in tandem to straighten your teeth, Dr. Nguyen will use advanced 3-D imaging to map out a complete orthodontic plan tailored to meet your specific smile needs.

She’ll send the information to our lab partners for the fabrication process. Usually, in two weeks, we’ll have the complete set of treatment trays ready for you to retrieve. You’ll wear each set of trays for 22 hours a day and for around two weeks. At the end of each two-week period, you’ll exchange them for the next set of trays in the series. With each new set, you’ll be getting a step closer to achieving the smile of your dreams. To ensure that you’re progressing on schedule, Dr. Nguyen may request to see you every four to six weeks.

What Invisalign Can be Used for

An ultra-versatile method of bite correction, Invisalign can effectively address the following:

Crowded Teeth

Improperly spaced teeth can make it difficult to perform normal tasks like brushing and flossing, which can result in plaque buildup, and tooth and gum decay. By having your teeth straightened with Invisalign, you can better prevent these oral health challenges.

Spaces Between Teeth

A gap between your teeth can cause more than just an unattractive smile. It can also aid in plaque growth, cavity development and gum disease. By closing any gaps, Invisalign helps to create a balanced and healthier smile.

Bite Alignment

In addition to aesthetic challenges, a misaligned bite can contribute to poor jaw health. This can result in TMJ disorder (or TMD). The acronym ‘TMJ’ stands for temporomandibular joint, which is the hinge point on either side of the face that allows the jaw to open and close. A bite misalignment can place unnatural stress on the joints, causing painful inflammation. With straight teeth, there is a lesser chance of this occurring.

Why Invisalign is Worth Considering

The Invisalign treatment process offers its fair share of benefits. Here are a few of them:

  • Faster Results – Treatment with traditional braces can sometimes take up to 36 months to complete. With Invisalign, there is the possibility of your teeth being corrected in as little as 12 months.
  • Comfortability – It’s well known that metal braces can be rather uncomfortable. The good news is that Invisalign offers a more enjoyable experience. While the trays still maintain firm pressure, their precision design better accommodates the shape and structure of your teeth.
  • Smile Aesthetics – One of the major drawbacks of wearing braces is the appearance patients have to live with. Whether the braces are metal or ceramic, their bulky nature easily directs attention to the mouth. You won’t have to worry about this with the low-profile design of your Invisalign clear trays.

The Cost of Invisalign

One of the reasons that Invisalign is so effective is that each step of the process is completely customized to meet your needs. Therefore, to get an accurate cost for treatment, you’ll need to visit our office to have your bite assessed. Your cosmetic dentist in Grand Prairie will take into account the current condition of your smile, the state of your dental health and the amount of time it will take to align your teeth. Based on your situation, you’ll be given a competitive price for treatment.
